Andy Warhol – An Exhibition in the Museum Brandhorst

From February 2012 the Museum Brandhorst will display a selection of works by Andy Warhol that have never or rarely been shown before. Warhol, who belongs to one of the most outstanding pop artists of the 20th century and who is regarded as the main representative of the collection Brandhorst with his well over 100 works, produced so-called “Shadows” at the end of the 70s. The shadows become the sole theme of the painting; the object that casts the shadow is missing. This has led to many speculations since the group of works was created. At an artattendance tour you get to know how the artist was inspired to make this design, which intention he followed and how contemporaries at that time reacted to this revolutionary format.
